Manic Monday

So today was a typical Monday... Crazy!!! All Mondays are usually crazy for us so of course tucker would decide Sunday night would be a good night to keep me up all night!! Ok, maybe not all night but pretty close! Poor baby is having a hard time cutting these pesky molars! I pray we see some white coming through those gums soon!!

So after a very long night, I wake up to Tripp even more snotty than he has been and coughing to boot! I called the dr's office and they had an opening within 20 minutes of my call. I had to take the early appointment because we already had tripp's first dental appointment scheduled for later in the morning:0 so I get off the phone and rush around getting everybody ready and miraculously we were out the door within 15 minutes!! Good thing I'm pretty low maintenance;) after a quick doc appointment we find out Tripp is just fine and probably just has allergies, better safe than sorry! He even took a peek in Tucker's ears too to make sure he was good too:) after the dr we rushed home, put tuck down for a nap, and sweet aunt janelle came over to sit with tuck while I took Tripp to the dentist.

The dentist appointment went sooo well!!! I didn't really know what to expect but Tripp did amazing!! The lady told me not to expect too much on the first visit and it was more about getting him aquatinted with the office, but Tripp managed to get x-rays, get a cleaning and have the doctor take a look! He was soooo good and so precious:) my baby is growing up!

After a crazy, dreary morning, the sun managed to come out, so we picked up some chick fil a and headed outside for a picnic:) after lunch we played out the lane and Tripp rode his bike...such a beautiful day!! Once we came in, it was nap time for the boys and work out time for mommy!! Phew, what a long day it has been already and it's only 2:30!!

Ok enough bantering, here are a few pics:)

Almost 3!

Tonight we celebrated tripp's birthday a little early. He turns 3 on march 4th, but since coach is having a knee replacement surgery this week and will be out of commission, we decided to have an early celebration! Tripp was so excited to see his cousin kate and blow out his candle and of course eat cake!! I made a turkey meatloaf, some roasted green beans and homemade mac'n'cheese. It was yummy and we had fun celebrating with coach, aunt janelle, uncle e, aunt k and the girls. Aunt janelle even brought some of her delicious dumplings!! Here are a few pics from tonight and earlier today. Enjoy! btw, I actually used my camera today!!

A bushel and a peck

Grammy always used to tell the boys that she loves them "a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!" We knew we never wanted them to forget that. So I decided to have a sign made to hang in their playroom to always serve as a reminder. It turned out great!! We miss her so very much everyday, but we know she is rejoicing in a better place and always watching over us! So this is for you Grammy! We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!!

Adventures in parenting

Being a mom has really changed my life, it has blessed me in a way that cannot be put into words! My boys are my heart and my whole reason for existing. There is simply no better job in the world!

However, as wonderful as motherhood is there are also plenty of not so glamorous moments;) thus the title of this blog post! Yesterday was definitely what we moms refer to as "one of those days". As I have mentioned in earlier posts, tucker has been teething and has been unusually fussy and not sleeping well! On top of all of that, he has had a tremendous amount of drainage, also teething related:( so now he has been vomiting sporadically! So yesterday the boys and I ran some errands and all was going well. I decided to make a quick run to SAMs for a few things before nap time. I get both kids in the cart and we are just starting our shopping when all of a sudden tucker starts to gag and yep, begins vomiting!! Out of instinct I stick out my hands and catch it! So here I am, standing in the middle of SAMs with a pool of vomit in my hands. I see a trash can a few feet away so I push the cart with my elbows and make it to the trash can to empty my hands. Just as I am doing that tuck vomits again!! This time it is all over him and the floor!! An employee saw me and brought me some paper towels. I apologized and offered to clean up the floor, but he looked at me with a sympathetic smile and told me he would take care of it. He was probably thinking poor lady! Because by this point tuck was covered in yuckiness and Tripp was saying ooooh and yuck! Over and over!! Needless to say, I grabbed the essentials and high tailed it out of there! Once we got to the car all was fine and both boys were in a great mood, guess God knew I couldn't take much more;) Tucker's congestion seemed to get worse and last night was awful!! He was up almost every hour. All it would take was us rocking him for a sec then he would fall right back asleep, but he was up again and this went on all night! And of course, Tripp who never wakes up, woke up too!! To say I am tired today would be the biggest understatement of the year! I am drinking a triple shot latte as I type:)

Even through all the crazy times, I wouldn't change a thing! I am blessed to be a mom and to have these two precious and healthy little boys! Here are a few pics I snapped with my phone of a sleep deprived mama, a little boy not feeling so great and of a crazy little almost 3 year old!

Hope all have a great day! Thanks for stopping by! Time for this mommy to work out while I have the time, hoping that will restore my energy:)

15 months

Our precious tucker bug is now 15 months old!! I can hardly believe it. He is so different from his big brother and seems to have a personality more like his daddy's. He is super laid back and seems to like to do things on his terms;) He is not walking yet, but getting closer everyday! I was super worried about him especially since his brother was walking before one and at this age was already climbing out of his crib!! Again, they are like night and day and I've learned to stop the comparisons:) tuck may not be walking but here are some things he is doing:

-points to everything!! Been pointing for a while now
-crawling and cruising everywhere, getting close to walking!
-tries so hard to talk, says mama, dada, bruh (brother), I duh (I do for when we ask him things) and a few other things
- drinks lots of milk!
-loves all food!!
- loves suckers and Popsicles
- really loves Oreos
- loves to play with his brother's cars and trucks
- loves special agent oso
- loves to dance
- is a great sleeper, but hasn't been lately due to teeth:(
- still takes 2 naps a day
- size 4 diapers
- size 18-24 months
- is a mama's boy!!
- loves to be outside
- absolutely loves to swing outside and would stay there all day if you let him!
- smiles all the time:)
- hates to wear shoes and socks! Will always pull them off
-likes to wave to everybody and say bye bye
- is quite the little flirt:)

As you can see our little man is such a sweet natured little boy and has been pretty busy these days. He has been pretty whiny lately because he is teething and he only wants his mama when he is not feeling good! That's ok, I will take it! I know one day he will not want his mama so much:) I love this little boy to pieces!! Sometimes I can't wait for him to walk but then I think about how fast he is growing up!! He is getting a little heavy to carry around so much;) at least I'm building some muscle:) anyways here are a few pics of our boy and a few from this weekend! We had a laid back weekend, went out to eat, went to a birthday party and spent lots of time outside!!

Sweet tuck

Happy Valentine's Day 2013

We had a great valentine's day this year! It was full of hugs, kisses and lots of candy and sugar highs:) Carl was so sweet and brought me my favorite flowers (tulips) and my fave bottle of wine and champagne! Don't worry, we didn't drink them both;) he also bought me a pair of boots that I mentioned wanting...he does listen to me after all;) I gave him a little gift everyday in February leading up to vday:) I also gave him a new shirt, some candy and a pic of me and the boys:)

Valentine's day ended up being a crazy busy day for us! Yesterday Tripp went to school as usual and was excited about eating pizza and cupcakes and celebrating valentines day! After we took him to school, I came home put tuck down, hopped on my elliptical, did some weights, took a shower and got ready. By that time tuck woke up, ate lunch then we headed to tripp's school for his party. After his party, we went to pick up coach at the dealership then came home and played outside for a few minutes. Later in the afternoon, our awesome babysitter Serena came over at the last minute to watch the boys so I could go visit my good friend Nina in the hospital. She gave birth to her precious baby girl, Alyssa, at 31 weeks unexpectedly. She was a sweet little angel weighing in at 2lbs 14 oz on valentines day (2/14!). She just couldn't resist giving her mom and dad the best vday present ever:) on the way to the hospital my hubby called and asked to meet for a quick dinner! So we were able to squeeze in a nice little Valentine's date too! After dinner, Carl went home to relieve Serena and coach (who was so sweet to take tripp out to play) and I went on to pick up Bren and we headed to the hospital. We were so lucky to be able to go in and meet the sweet little angel! She is precious and looks just like her big brother:) please keep sweet Alyssa and the lees in your prayers:) once I got home from the hospital tucker was asleep and Tripp was ready for bed. So we put Tripp down and enjoyed a glass of champagne and each other:) it was a nice day an night! Ok enough with all the chit chat! Here are some pictures:)

I won't post all the pics of treats I gave Carl during the "14 days of valentines", but here are a few of my faves:)

Happy Valentine's day!!
