A weekend full of "firsts"

mommy's all star decked out in baseball gear for cousin blake's t-ball game

This weekend was a weekend full of firsts for little tripp! First of all tripp's umbilical cord finally fell off sometime thursday during the night. We still have yet to find it! Since his cord finally came off we were able to put him in his bathtub for the FIRST time! It was Friday morning and unfortunately carl was at work, but I gave Tripp his very first bath. He loved it and was so relaxed! After his bath he zonked out! Carl was able to be there for his evening bath, although tripp didn't seem to enjoy his evening bath as much, but that was probably because he hadn't eaten yet...and we all know a hungry baby= a fussy baby! Below is a picture of Tripp in his first bath experience! (I know one day tripp will probably be mad at mommy for sharing this pic;))

Tripp's FIRST bath!

On Friday night Carl, Tripp and I went over to Adam and Jessica's for dinner with them and Damian and Nina along with the other new babies! It was Tripp's first time to meet his new buddies Evan and Judd! It was his very first playdate;) Although Tripp was a little fussy we still managed to have a good time. I posted some pics from the night.

Saturday was another fun day! We took Tripp on his first big outing to baytown to watch cousin blake play t-ball. We were nervous about how tripp would do in a long car ride, so I made sure to feed him right before we left, then we strapped him up, put him in the car and off we went. Tripp did really well! He slept the whole way and even slept through the entire game! Afterwards we all went out to lunch where tripp woke up, ate and then went back to sleep...he was the perfect angel! ;) Saturday night YaYa and aunt mo watched tripp while carl and I went to wal-mart, it was nice getting out by ourselves even if it was to wal-mart:) here is a pic from the day!

Tripp with his cousin blake and "uncle buck"

Today Tripp had a rough day...poor guy! But we still managed to go over to YaYa's to hang out with her, Aunt Mo, Aunt Rat and cousins blake and jake. We are hoping tonight goes a lot better than today. Overall we had a really fun weekend and can't believe our boy is growing up so fast! We hope everyone had a good weekend:) Thanks for checking in with us!

3 weeks old!

Happy Easter!

Hard to believe our little man has been here with us for three weeks already! We just love him so much and are enjoying every moment with him, even the sleepless nights;)

Well we have had a rough week so far. The poor baby has been fussier than usual. He was also having a little trouble going potty. So we called the doctor who after asking me questions about all kinds of symptoms determined that tripp has reflux/heart burn and prescribed him some meds. Poor little guy! No wonder he has been so fussy and keeping mommy up ALL night! He has been on the meds for a day now and they do seem to be helping somewhat. Thank goodness. Hopefully this little baby will be over this soon. Other than that Tripp is a little angel!

We have had some great support and sweet visitors this week. Since I have been so exhausted my sweet grandma came over yesterday, brought me lunch and let me take a long nap while she watched tripp! It was much needed and I felt so refreshed. And a good friend, Michelle came over on tuesday to visit tripp and me and brought me lunch! I felt so spoiled this week!

I have posted some pictures...enjoy!

so tired...

mommy loves my froggie legs:)

No, this is not an outfit my parent's bought...this is the outfit my dad came home in!

One of Tripp's favoite things to do is lay in his crib, look at the window and listen to his lullabys. He is just so calm! I love to watch him. Our favorite george strait lullaby rendition is "I cross my heart" which is my song to my sweet baby! Tripp loves it when we listen to it together!

Mama's lullaby to her baby:

"I cross my heart and promise to give all I've got to give to make all your dreams come true...

in all the world you'll never find a love as true as mine..."

We hope everyone has a blessed weekend and we will update again soon! Thanks for checking in!

Two Weeks Old

Tripp Ryder

Tripp is officially two weeks old! I can't believe it has already been two weeks. Things are getting much easier and I'm getting used to only sleeping in increments of 2-3 hours. Tripp is just so precious and as you can tell I keep my camera handy at all times! Poor tripp is being bombarded by his paparazzi mama!

We have been to the doctor for our 2 week check-up and newborn screening and everything is looking good! We did discover that tripp is quite a hairy little guy! So cute! Tripp is eating very well and sometimes I feel like that is all I do...nurse him and change his diaper then repeat! But I enjoy every minute of it.

We have had lots of visitors over the past two weeks. Tripp has gotten a chance to see his cousins blake and jake several times and cousin kate as well. Blake and jake are so excited to have tripp around. Jake who is 1 is really fascinated with him and laughs hysterically every time tripp moves. Jessica, peggy, joshua and baby judd even came to visit this week. Judd is two weeks older than tripp and has gotten so big! He is precious! Those are just a few of the visitors we have had, not to mention the "regulars".

Carl and I are enjoying our time with tripp. Tripp loves it when his daddy gets home and holds him. He just loves to look up at and listen to his daddy. Tripp also loves to fold his little legs up like a frog! I call him my little froggie! Tripp loves to listen to his "soothe n glow seahorse"...this is a lifesaver! It calms him down and even helps to put him to sleep sometimes. Tripp is doing better sleeping although at his bedtime feeding he usually is wide awake afterward and refuses to go to sleep. This of course is the time that we are most exhausted! But he is gettting better!

Well just wanted to post some pics and update a little on our baby boy. It's now time to feed...again! Hope everyone is having a great week and has an awesome weekend!

Enjoy the pictures!!

Carl & Tripp and Erik & Kate...2 proud daddies

Just thought I'd post a few more pictures! There are just so many and so many more to come. This blog may be overrun by pictures really soon! We are still hanging in there, things get better day by day. Tripp actually slept almost 4 hours before he woke up to nurse! It was a great 4 hours of sleep!! My poor mom has been such a trooper and staying the nights with us this past week she has been a lifesaver. Despite the sleep deprivation we are so in love with our little boy and thank God for him everyday. Thanks for checking in again. Have a great weekend!

Tripp Ryder Schindewolf

Tripp Ryder Schindewolf has arrived! He was born Thursday March 4th at 7:38pm. He was 20 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. He caught us by surprise only weighing in at 7 lbs since he had been measuring well above size! Above all he is a precious healthy little gift from God!

Carl and I had quite an adventure. We arrived at the hospital on Wednesday night to begin an IV and some cervical meds so that the induction could be started early the next morning. I had some small contractions all through the night. On Thursday morning they started the induction and boy did the contractions start! We were in labor for 12 hours when I was checked again and was told we were still in the early stages of labor! My doctor decided it would be best to do a c-section. We were a little skeptical at first but we prayed about it and felt like it was probably the way to go. So after 12 hours of labor, within 30 minutes of deciding to do a c-section Tripp was born! Dr. Jackson later told me that Tripp was positioned awkardly inside that he would have had to end up doing a c-section in the end anyways! So guess things worked out the way they were supposed to.

We were in the hospital until Sunday afternoon. We had so many visitors and we loved it! Tripp was happy to meet all his new family and friends:) We came home sunday and were glad to be home! Tripp settled in right away with a good nap! My mom had lunch and dinner made for us and was excited to welcome her new grandson home. We had a few visitors on sunday as well and as soon as they all left reality hit! It was the first of many sleepless nights;) My wonderful mom has stayed with us the past three nights to help us out. It has been such a blessing. Since I had the c-section it is harder to get around so carl and mom have been on baby duty! Things get better everyday!

Today Tripp is 1 week old! Can't believe he has already been here for a whole week! Carl and I have been loving every minute with our precious little boy. Tripp just loves his daddy! We have been having a little trouble at night, apparently Tripp has his nights and days mixed up! We are working on getting that changed, but boy is it hard to wake up this little boy! We are so blessed to have such great family and friends, they have been so helpful to me in recovering from my c-section and taking care of my precious boy. Especially my grandma who has been over everyday while carl is at work.
I'm glad I have finally had a chance to update the blog. Here are some pictures of our little dumpling!

BIG news!!

Well...we went to the doctor this morning and Dr. Jackson has decided to induce me on Thursday, March 4th. My blood pressure has been a little elevated the past few weeks so he decided it's time! It will most likely be sometime in the morning, they will call and let us know.

If there are any changes we will for sure update the blog! We will also be updating after he arrives and hopefully during the process if possible. This may be my last blog entry until then...so thanks for checking in!

Many Blessings,
Traci & Tripp
