Memorial Day Weekend 2012

It was a nice long relaxing weekend for us! Definitely much needed after the week we had. However, although tripp was getting better I started to get sick! It started friday, but I have toughed it out, because as a mommy you don't get sick days;) Carl has been a trooper and has helped out a lot so that I could get some rest. I'm happy to report, we are all finally on the mend!! Here's to a healthy june!!

As I said, it was a relaxing weekend...or perhaps lazy would be a better way to describe it;) We all got a lot of rest and got to have a lot of quality family time together. Carl and I even had a date night with our boys in tow! It actually worked out ok. Tripp played with the ipad and carl held tucker. It was a quick dinner but a great one:) I'm one lucky girl.... a date with 3 handsome men:) The rest of the time, we played outside, went swimming, played with grammy, coach and aunt janelle, watched daddy work on the playhouse he's building and just spent time together. We are blessed indeed!! Here are some pictures....enjoy!

To the Doc we go...AGAIN!

That post title about sums up how the past month has been for us! And most recently, this week! It is Wednesday and we have been to the doctor with tripp everyday so far! It started monday when I had to take tripp in and get him his first set of x-rays! To make a long story short, a few weeks ago tripp was playing in the kitchen while I was changing tucker. I heard him pulling some change off the counter and the next thing I know he fell while he was running and was choking on something! I paniced, of course, and once he seemed to get it down I called mr. schindewolf who ran over to help. I called the doctor's office as tripp is screaming and they told me that if it was indeed a coin it would pass. So needless to say for the next few weeks I had to dig through his....well you know! It never came through so the doc said we could get xrays if we wanted to to see if there was anything in there. We were thinking about it when monday morning tripp was whiny and had blood in his stool. The xrays came out clear and he seemed to be fine after all of that. We thought "whew, we're in the clear". NOPE! Tuesday morning tripp woke up running 101.4 fever. Off to the doctor we went again! They ran some tests and all came back clear so they determined it was viral and sent us home with instructions to continue tylenol. Well last night was a night from..H-E-double hockey sticks;) Tripp was up screaming ALL night and would scream every time he swallowed and developed a raspy cough. I finally got him to fall asleep around 4am and just as I was about to lay down tucker woke up! I thought, "of course"! Once I got him back down I was able to sleep for about an hour then tripp was up and crying again! Luckily, my wonderful mom was here waiting when we woke up. She stayed with tucker while we...YEP....went to the doctor AGAIN!! Thise people probably think I'm crazy!! Anyways, after about an hour and a blood test later, they determined it was viral and finally gave us some medicine!! So hopefully this will be the answer:) Prior to all of this chaos, we were in the doctor's office about once a week with tucker due to his tummy problems! Luckily, tucker has been doing very well:) Guess now it's tripp's turn:/ I'm just ready for my babies to feel good and not be miserable anymore!! I have been ingesting coffee like there is no tomorrow and have been running on fumes:) However, seeing my precious babies faces when they smile up at me is all the incentive I need! I love being a mommy....even on days like these;)

6 months

Our little tucker is now 6 months old!! Time is going way too fast! He is just so precious and has blessed our lives in so many ways. Here are some of the things he is up to these days:

  • eats about 5-6 oz. every 4-5 hours
  • naps 2-3 times a day
  • wearing size 4 diapers
  • wearing 12 month clothing
  • not sleeping very good (waking up about once or twice a night...due to tummy problems)
  • smiles all the time
  • loves to watch his brother play
  • does not like loud noises
  • seems to be quite the little mama's boy these days
  • is almost sitting up all by himself
  • rolling all around
  • likes to watch mickey mouse and gets really excited when he comes on the screen
  • has had some tummy issues, but with some new formula and acid reflux meds things seem to be getting better:)
  • had his first stomach virus
  • loves to grab everything, especially faces
  • has his first tooth breaking through on the bottom!
  • loves to grab and play with his feet and hands

We also went for tucker's 6 month check-up today. All is good and he got his shots too. He was a champ and barely even cried, then went right to sleep in the car. However, since then he has been quite the fussy little thing! We can't wait for daddy to get home;) Here are tucker's stats:

  • weight: 20 lbs 6.5 oz. 92nd percentile
  • height: 26.5 inches 55th percentile
  • head circumference: 47 cm 99th percentile

As I said before, Tucker has been having some tummy problems. He has been throwing up every night after his bottle and is up and fussy a lot of the night. He was displaying a lot of acid reflux symptoms so the doctor decided to try him on meds. And after some research and talking with friends we decided to start a new much more sensitive formula. We started it on tuesday afternoon and since then we haven't seen any more throw up and our happy little tucker is back! So we are keeping our fingers crossed and praying that this is the solution! Other than that, our little tucker is a happy, laid back little guy. He has really blessed our lives and we love having two little boys.

Today is tucker's half birthday. So tonight we will be celebrating with a cake, a tradition we started with tripp. It seems like just yesterday that we were celebrating tripp's half birthday:) Time flies....just another reminder to enjoy every second and thank God for each new day he gives us! Here are some pictures...

sweet kisses

not too happy about more pictures!

Mother's Day 2012

We have had a very busy, but very fun weekend! It kicked off friday with my little sister's graduation from shsu. We had lunch together and then watched her walk across the stage into her future;) We are so proud of you little sister;) Friday night was eventful, but not so much fun. We ended up having to take tucker into the after hours pediatrician's office. He has been continually having tummy problems and being the dorky mom that i am, I have been researching like crazy and discovered that he is displaying almost all the symptoms of acid reflux. We took him in and they decided to prescribe him some meds. We made it to the pharmacy just before they closed, but unfortunately what they prescribed wasn't covered on our insurance. Thankfully our regular doctor was working this weekend so he switched the meds and called it in today. So we will be praying that this will be the answer and give our poor little tucker bug some relief!

Saturday we attended our friend's little girl's birthday party. Precious amelia turned the big O-N-E!! We had fun celebrating and tripp had fun playing with all the little girl toys;) We went home, took naps and then it was off to my sister's graduation party. We had fun celebrating with family and friends and eating some yummy barbeque. By the time we got home last night we were all "tuckered" out;) We all slept really good. This morning we got up, got ready and headed to church we we had our precious tucker dedicated to our church and to the Lord! thanks to our sweet parents for joining in the celebration!! Afterwards, we all headed to have lunch together. We were able to celebrate tucker's dedication and mother's day with our boys and our moms too! Everyday I wake up and thank God for giving me such a wonderful family. I have learned so much from my mom and hope to be half the mom she was and still is. The strength, love and support she has shown me all these years is amazing. I thank God for my mother. I am also so thankful for such an amazing mother in law. I truly feel so close to her and really have come to think of her as a second mom. I have already leanred so much from her and hope to raise two amazing young men as she clearly has. I'm so blessed to have 2 such influences in my life. I love you both mom and susie!! thank you for all you do. Our boys love you both so much!!

Ok enough with all the chatter....here are some pictures (btw, I am LOVING my new camera and think it's only a matter of time before everyone starts telling me to put it away;))

Blessed beyond words...love my handsome boys<3
