Week 12 and another fun weekend :)

Well we have finally reached week 12! The end of the first trimester. Bittersweet, but hopefully I will start feeling tip top again! As always here is a peek at what baby schindewolf is up to this week:

The most dramatic development this week: reflexes. Your baby's fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won't be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby's brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over 2 inches long and weighs half an ounce.

I can't believe we are about to move into the second trimester. Time has really flown by, but I am ready to start feeling better and start having more energy.

Well Carl and I had another great weekend. On Friday night we went over to Adam & Jessica's house and had dinner with them and Joshua. Joshua has gotten so big and is super cute! Joshua is usually not eager to be with Carl (even though he loves saying "ka" which is his way of saying Carl) but Carl put him up in a tree in his backyard and he loved it and even liked Carl too ;) It was a fun night. Adam grilled us some yummy steaks. We love spending time with them and can't wait until our babies can play together as well :)

On Saturday while Carl was busy at work on the baby's room, mom and I went to Baytown to see the boys and did a little shopping. We spent quite a bit of time in the motherhood store. I'm lucky to have such a great mom who generously bought me some cute outfits and cute/comfy shirts to wear. This little belly is starting to sprout ;) When I got home home Saturday afternoon I was beat and even fell asleep at 8:30!

This morning Carl and I went to church and then had lunch at our fave spot....SUBWAY ;) I felt like todays message was great and inspiring. Something Pastor Kerry said really stuck with me and I thought I would end with this and leave it for you to ponder. "You never know God is all you need until God is all you have".

Well I hope everyone has a blessed week! Until next time....

A little Update....

So Carl & I went to the doctor this morning for our monthly appointment and had to wait for two hours because Dr. J got caught up at the hospital! Carl brought in some plans and sat and did some work while I napped on the "comfy" exam bed and surfed the net. Well it was all worth it when he finally came in because we were able to listen to baby schinde's heartbeat again! It's strong and healthy! Dr. J said everything looked good and was glad to see that I had finally gained a little weight. We feel so blessed and can't wait to find out out if it's a he or a she!! We will update again soon.

Hope everyone has a blessed week!

Funny Stuff...

So as I am on my morning walk this morning my blackberry alerts me that I have an email. It was from my sister describing my nephew blake's second day of school....it was too funny not to share, especially for those of you who know her and my nephew:

So, day number 2 has begun. It started off teary eyed ("I want to go back to sleep...I'm tired"!) But ended up going well. By the time we dropped him off at school, he didn't even want me to walk him to class! Despite his rejection...I walked inside anyway. While I was detained (showing my drivers license to the school secretary) Blake takes off running....right down the first grade hall! As I'm panicing; helplessly watching through the glass office window. I scream out to the teachers on hall duty, "he's lost! He's going down the wrong hall"! As a group of teachers are turning to see what the crazy lady in her pajamas is screaming about...I see a little spikey haired, red back pack wearing boy (resembling my son) run away from the first grade hall and down toward the kindergarten hall! A teacher goes down to check him and assured me he'd found Mrs. Moons class! Just wanted to update you all on day #2. Have a good one!

Thought this was hilarious!! Hope everyone has a great day! Baby Schinde and I are feeling great so far today...hopefully this will be a great one!!

Blake's First Day of Kindergarten

My baby nephew (well I guess he's not my baby anymore :() had his first day of kindergarten today! Of course I went out to bring him breakfast and see him off. He was such a big guy about everything and went right into his class without a tear! His mom came home without a tear as well!! I'm so proud of him but can't believe how big he is getting and how fast! It reminds me to enjoy every precious (and not so precious) moment with baby schindewolf. He/she will be starting kindergarten before I know it. I have posted some pics of my baby! (he will always be my baby no matter how big he is!) :)

Week 11

Well we are officially at week 11. Baby Schindewolf has been growing and changing at a rapid pace! As usual here is what our little monkey is up to this week:

Baby's now the size of a lime! Your fetus currently enjoys a 1:1 ratio between body and head, and has skin so transparent that blood vessels show right through it. This is a big week for your baby's growth—she'll double in height. At the end of the week, her head and body will be roughly equal in length. This week also starts an active phase for her - she can turn somersaults, roll over, flex her fingers, hiccup, and stretch. You won't be able to feel her movement for another month and a half. She's floating in lots of amniotic fluid. Her limbs are developing from webbed paddles into arms and legs that have well-defined fingers and toes. Fingernails, toenails, and hair follicles are also beginning to form. Your baby's testes or ovaries have developed, though the sex probably won't be visible on a sonogram for at least another month. Intestines have developed at the place where the umbilical cord meets your baby's body. The intestines are now able to make constricting movements, though there won't be anything to digest until later.

Things have been improving for me. I'm still not feeling 100% but I feel like I'm getting closer. I have heard many people say that it seems like when you hit that 2nd trimester all of the sickness just magically goes away...I am patiently waiting for that day;) We have an appointment with the doc this week so we see how our baby monkey is doing :)

Tomorrow my little nephew starts kindergarten! I can't believe it! He has grown up so fast. I am of course going to go see him off for his first day and I will be posting pictures!

Well I hope everyone has a great week and we will update again soon!! Blessings to all!!

ps: the baby bump is officially starting to appear!

Carl and I had a great weekend. We went to the Astro's game on Friday night and had some great mexican food! The Food part was the most memorable to me ;) We went to Irma's which is about 2 blocks away from minute maid. Their food is excellent! If you are in the mood for some mexican food you should try it :)

Saturday night we went to a friend of ours from high school, Ashley Abercrombie's wedding. It was a beautiful wedding and of course Ashley looked gorgeous! We even had a chance to reconnect with some old friends! I have posted some pics from last night!

Counting my blessings...

So week 10 continues on. I am so ready to start feeling better! Baby Schindewolf is still on a red meat kick, so Carl grilled us some yummy steaks last night:)

I have been trying to do my best in working with my clients but it is really hard when I feel nauseous all the time! I am so thankful to possess the gifts that I do in order to help others. There is no better feeling in the world than knowing that you have made a difference in someone's life. I am so blessed that this is what I do (or at least try to do) everyday! Hopefully I will be able to complete my "intern status" before baby schindewolf arrives. We will see what happens. I am just looking forward to spending all of my time with our precious little baby!

We are so thankful to have such wonderful family and friends. everyone has been so supportive. My dad (chief) brought me and baby S some breakfast on tuesday morning which was a nice surpise and the perfect anecdote for a nap! ;)

Well I was just thinking about all I had to be thankful for and decided to share. Take a minute and think about all you have to be thankful for as well!! Hope everyone is having a great week...tomorrow is friday! Will update again soon.

Blessings,

Week 10

First of all as usual here is a peek at what baby schindewolf is up to this week:

Though he's barely the size of a kumquat — a little over an inch or so long, crown to bottom — and weighs less than a quarter of an ounce, your baby has now completed the most critical portion of his development. This is the beginning of the so-called fetal period, a time when the tissues and organs in his body rapidly grow and mature. If you could take a peek inside your womb, you'd spot minute details, like tiny nails forming on fingers and toes (no more webbing) and peach-fuzz hair beginning to grow on tender skin.

So there you have it! Baby Schindewolf is growing slowly but surely.
Well we had a great weekend! Carl and I went on a long bike ride on friday afternoon, it felt really good but boy was I tired afterwards! My reward was a mcdonald's happy meal because lately baby schindewolf has been loving some red meat! Especially hamburgers and steak! On Saturday Baby Schinde and I went shopping at the outlet mall in cypress with mom, kelly and the boys. Mom (YaYa) took us to red robin to eat...a hamburger! Carl and I have already started getting supplies for the baby's room. We went to Lowes to get some hardware for Carl to start working on the walls. Now we have to wait to see what color we will be painting...pink or blue??? Can't wait to find out. Well baby schinde and I are off for an afternoon walk with mom while carl uses his handyman skills to help out his brother. We will update again soon! Hope everyone has a great week!!!
Blessings!! Traci, Carl and Baby Schinde :)

Week 9 and Thanksgiving in August

Today we had " Thanksgiving in August". Baby Schindewolf really wanted some thanksgiving foods so my mom made us a mini-thanksgiving day feast! It was great and Baby S really enjoyed it. Now we can't wait til' the "real" thanksgiving! It was nice getting together with the family and do what we do best..eat! YaYa is spoiling her new grandbaby already!! Thanks mom!
Well we are approaching our 9th week and baby schindewolf has graduated from embryo to fetus status! Here's a little summary of what baby schindewolf is up to this week:

Your baby is now about three-quarters of an inch long. As the embryo enters its fiftieth day of existence, it becomes known as a fetus. A membrane lid covers your baby's eyes. Your baby's muscles are beginning to develop, and she can make tiny movements. Your child's limbs are growing, but her arms and hands are forming more quickly than her legs and feet. The hands are actually still known as "hand paddles" and look just like they sound. Ridges have formed on the paddles, which will soon become well-defined fingers. Your baby is developing little dimples where her knees and ankles will go, and her elbows are becoming visible. This week is when sex characteristics begin to assert themselves, and ovaries or testes will soon appear (though an ultrasound won't be able to detect specific sex organs for another two months or so). Your baby's brain waves can now be detected.
That's about all that's going on with us now. I have been feeling sick daily but hoping it will start to ease up soon. I have also been having some intense cravings!! But all in all things are well and we thank God daily for each other, our family, and our little miracle on the way. We are truly blessed. Hope everyone has a happy monday!! We will update soon!!

8 weeks and counting...

Here's an update of what baby schindewolf is up to this week courtesy of babycenter.com:

Your pregnancy: 8 weeks

How your baby's growing:New this week: Webbed fingers and toes are poking out from your baby's hands and feet, his eyelids practically cover his eyes, breathing tubes extend from his throat to the branches of his developing lungs, and his "tail" is just about gone. In his brain, nerve cells are branching out to connect with one another, forming primitive neural pathways. You may be daydreaming about your baby as one sex or the other, but the external genitals still haven't developed enough to reveal whether you're having a boy or a girl. Either way, your baby — about the size of a kidney bean — is constantly moving and shifting, though you still can't feel it.

Isn't is amazing how God creates us? We feel so blessed!! Well things have been moving right along. Still having some nausea mixed with bouts of crazy cravings and always really tired, but it is all worth it! Lately baby schindewolf has really been loving some mexican food! We will see what he/she will like next week ;) Carl and my mom have been wonderful in helping me fulfill my cravings lately...thanks guys!

Sorry we haven't posted our ultrasound video...we have been experiencing some technical difficulties with our dvd. We will definitely post the next one in a couple of weeks.

Thanks for all of your support and prayers, we love you all!! Until next time....

Nausea/Cravings

So as of now things are going great....except for the nausea that has kicked in! Im either really craving something or feeling sick. I had always heard people talk about craving something so bad that they would just cry if they couldnt have it and I was always skeptical about it until now! I can't even plan dinners ahead right now because I will not know what I want to eat until it's time to eat. Good thing carl is not picky ;) I have to give a shout out to my mom and sisters for helping me fulfill those crazy cravings lately!!

Baby Schinde has been waing me up really early in the morning because he/she is ready to eat! Our breakfast lately has consisted of turkey sandwiches on english muffins because breakfast foods arent working right now and english muffins because regular bread is a "no-no" as well!!

Just wanted to give a quick update! I will work on getting the dvd posted soon!! Hope everyone has a great weekend!
