Weekend in San Antonio

our engagement december 2006

back to "our fountain" after 3 wonderful years of marriage

and with our precious little blessing

love

This past weekend we traveled to san antonio. It was Tripp's very first road trip, so we were very nervous about how he would do. He was quite the trooper...minimal fussing, a few naps here and there but other wise he just sat, looked out the window and watched a lot of handy manny and mickey mouse!
As you can tell from the pictures above, carl proposed to me on the riverwalk near a fountain in december of 2006. So we went back to "our fountain" to take a few pictures...only this time we had our precious little boy with us! One day we will be able to take our kids there and tell them "this is where mommy and daddy started their love story!" I'm sure they won't care...but one day they will;)
On friday night keith and my mom took us out for dinner on the riverwalk at a lovely little place called boudros. We had the most delicious prickly-pear margaritas, homemade guacamole (made table side) and most scrumptious prime rib ever! It was really great and to top it off we sat river-side and got to admire all the beautiful lights! Tripp was a little fussy since he was out a little later than usual, but it wasn't something that couldn't be cured by the guacamole...which he loved!!
On saturday we got up, did a little shopping then had another delicious meal at alamo cafe. They had the best homemade tortillas and queso. Keith definitely spoiled us again with another delicious meal!! After we filled our bellies, Carl, tripp and I headed off to the riverwalk to do a little more sight seeing. We even took tripp to the alamo! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. While we were in town tripp had his very first eye exam! Dr. Keith examined his eyes and told us everything looked great!!
Sunday morning before we headed off we went over to lulu's cafe for a very unique breakfast;) We had seen a show called man vs. food where the host visited this little diner in san antonio. they are famous for ginormous cinnamon rolls! They looked so delicious on tv.....and yep......tasted much more delicious in person!! That's right, we ordered us one of the "3 lb'ers"! We of course all split one and still had lots left over! It was super fun.
Overall we had a great weekend and as you can tell had a lot of great food! Such great food that I will be needing a little extra cardio this week;) Thanks Keith for being such a great host and for treating us to some delicious meals:) Below are some more pictures from our weekend...enjoy!

9 months old

Tripp Ryder 9 months
Our precious boy is now 9 months old! He is growing and changing so much!! we wish we could press the pause button. we are having so much fun with him and he definitely keeps us moving!! We went to the doctor this morning for his 9 month well check. Here are his stats:
weight: 23 lbs. 1 oz. (90th percentile)
height: 29 inches (78th percentile)
The doctor said tripp looks great and is very healthy! We feed him well. His head continues to be on the larger side...he is in the 99th percentile for head circumference! We are happy and blessed that we have a beautiful and healthy baby boy. here are some of the things our boy has been up to:
- wearing 12-18 months
-plays peek-a-boo (really loves this game right now!)
-crawling around everywhere and is really fast!
-pulling up on anything he can get his hands on
-laughs when he loses his balance
-likes to stand and walk (with help)
-loves to feed himself
-loves to eat meat!
-no teeth yet:(
-likes to eat table food and will open his mouth when he sees us eating
-loves bananas
-so smiley! he has such a cute personality (this part reminds me of me!)
-pretty laidback (this reminds me of his daddy)
-loves his daddy and follows him around everywhere
-gets upset when mommy leaves the room (so i have to carry him around to every room i go into!)
-in to everything!! (can't take my eyes off of him)
-likes to eat grass and dirt!
-loves outside
-puts everything into his mouth
-takes 2-3 naps a day
-still in size 4 diapers
As you can see we have been busy. This little boy sure likes to explore and get into everything! He really has no fear and even loves to stick his head in the water during bath time (makes mommy sooooo nervous). Speaking of bath time, tripp does not like to sit still, he moves and crawls all around and even tries to stand in the tub. Giving him a bath is a task! I can't believe how much he is changing and growing. He keeps us busy but keeps our lives entertained and full of exciting new adventures! We love this little boy to pieces.
We are enjoying the holiday season so much more this year because its Tripp's very first holiday season. In fact we have been so good this year that santa came early and brought tripp his first car, daddy a new laptop and mommy a new camera! Wow, we've been good! I have a feeling santa has a LOT more goodies for tripp;) Speaking of santa, thursday I took tripp to the mall to have his picture made with santa. As we were standing in line I saw all the babies leave in tears and in fear of their lives! I thought oh no, how is tripp going to handle this?? Well, he handled it so well, that all the other mommies and daddies were all looking on in awe! He went right to santa and smiled really big! He even giggled a little when santa rang his bells. It was so precious! I posted the picture below...sorry about the bad quality, i took a picture with my phone.
Below are some recent pictures of our baby boy! Enjoy!!

This weekend Carl and I are off to Dallas for his cousin Jennie's wedding. Tripp will be having a sleepover with his yaya! We are excited to get away for a night alone together but are so sad to be away from our little boy! I'm sure he will be spoiled rotten and have a great time with his yaya!! Well, thanks for stopping by! We will update again soon. Hope all have a super duper fun weekend!!
