Weekend in San Antonio

our engagement december 2006

back to "our fountain" after 3 wonderful years of marriage

and with our precious little blessing

love

This past weekend we traveled to san antonio. It was Tripp's very first road trip, so we were very nervous about how he would do. He was quite the trooper...minimal fussing, a few naps here and there but other wise he just sat, looked out the window and watched a lot of handy manny and mickey mouse!
As you can tell from the pictures above, carl proposed to me on the riverwalk near a fountain in december of 2006. So we went back to "our fountain" to take a few pictures...only this time we had our precious little boy with us! One day we will be able to take our kids there and tell them "this is where mommy and daddy started their love story!" I'm sure they won't care...but one day they will;)
On friday night keith and my mom took us out for dinner on the riverwalk at a lovely little place called boudros. We had the most delicious prickly-pear margaritas, homemade guacamole (made table side) and most scrumptious prime rib ever! It was really great and to top it off we sat river-side and got to admire all the beautiful lights! Tripp was a little fussy since he was out a little later than usual, but it wasn't something that couldn't be cured by the guacamole...which he loved!!
On saturday we got up, did a little shopping then had another delicious meal at alamo cafe. They had the best homemade tortillas and queso. Keith definitely spoiled us again with another delicious meal!! After we filled our bellies, Carl, tripp and I headed off to the riverwalk to do a little more sight seeing. We even took tripp to the alamo! It was a beautiful day and we had a great time. While we were in town tripp had his very first eye exam! Dr. Keith examined his eyes and told us everything looked great!!
Sunday morning before we headed off we went over to lulu's cafe for a very unique breakfast;) We had seen a show called man vs. food where the host visited this little diner in san antonio. they are famous for ginormous cinnamon rolls! They looked so delicious on tv.....and yep......tasted much more delicious in person!! That's right, we ordered us one of the "3 lb'ers"! We of course all split one and still had lots left over! It was super fun.
Overall we had a great weekend and as you can tell had a lot of great food! Such great food that I will be needing a little extra cardio this week;) Thanks Keith for being such a great host and for treating us to some delicious meals:) Below are some more pictures from our weekend...enjoy!
