Sitting up!

What a happy early birthday present for mommy....Tripp decided to sit up on his own today!! He has been so close and we knew it would be any day, guess he wanted to give mommy a little birthday present by showing me what a big strong boy he is!

What an exciting week we've had so far! Hope all are having a good week!!

Happy Labor Day!

Wow! What a fun long weekend we had! Carl was off Thursday, Friday and Monday so we had lots of family time, which tripp especially loved! We started off the weekend by driving yaya (my mom) to the airport because she went away for the long weekend. On friday morning we had tripp's 6 month well check and shots!! :( He was a champ and as I spoke about in the previous blog I had to do it by myself because carl was at a meeting and yaya was gone! We both survived!! The rest of the day was nice and relaxing and we even went to visit nana and papa (my grandparents). Saturday afternoon Carl and I had a nice afternoon movie date! It was nice to spend some time together. Thanks grammy and coach for watching the little tripper:) Sunday we started by watching church online live since our little monkey decided he wanted to sleep in:) Then we went over to chief and ging's for a labor day bar-b-que! It was so fun and so yummy and of course we loved seeing chief, ging, uncle buck, aunt mo, cousins blake and jake, and aunt rat! They even surprised me with an rj goodies cake (my favorite!!) for an early birthday celebration!! It was delicious!!! Thanks chief and ging!! We love family gatherings!! :) We rounded out the weekend by having lunch with carl's family at his aunt karens. Another yummy meal and more family time. We are blessed!! Well tripp and I have already had an adventure this morning! We went to target to pick up some baby necessities this morning to try and beat the rain, well just as we thought we had done it....it started pouring as we were walking out of target! It was like a monsoon!! So i had to trek back in, buy a poncho and cover up the tripper. As I was marathon running to the car I dropped my bag, had to pick it up and got soaked in the process!! Tripp managed to stay dry and thought it was hilarious! Just another adventure in mommyland! What a great start to my birthday week!! We already can't wait til next weekend when we get to celebrate with yaya!! Well gotta go and change a not so pleasant diaper! ;) Hope all have a blessed week and try and stay dry! Happy 1/2 Birthday Tripp

Yesterday was Tripp's 1/2 Birthday! (6 months). We of course celebrated with a cake! Even though tripp can't eat cake yet, mommy and daddy enjoyed a piece for him:) However, as we were posing for pictures by his cake, tripp decided he wanted to taste some for himself! So he grabbed a big chunk of icing out of the side and put it right in his mouth! It was hystercial!! Well Happy 1/2 Birthday baby boy! We love you oodles and oodles!! Enjoy the pictures!!

6 Months Old

Happy 1/2 birthday to our little man!! I can't believe it but our little boy is 6 months old. Where does the time go?? He is so precious and so alert these days. He is such a blessing in our lives and we cannot imagine our lives without him! We wonder what we ever did before him....probably sleep;) To start off our post we have tripp's 6 months stats from the doctor this morning:

height: 27 1/2 in.
weight: 20.7 lbs
which are both in the 90th percentile and his head circumference is still in the 97th percentile! The doctor likes to joke with us and said to us today "who do yall think he looks like?" as we were answering his question he then said, "well i'm just trying to figure out where he gets his big head from!" haha!! He just has a big head to fit his big brain in ;) All in all, tripp is a healthy, but big 6 month old. The doctor also gave us the go ahead to let tripp start trying some gerber puffs since tripp tries to grab for food. We will be trying that tonight! Tripp also had to get his 6 month shots! And I had to do it all by myself because carl had to leave for a meeting and my mom is out of town! I thought i was going to pass out. Even the nurse was like, "oh no you're by yourself?" she knows what a wimp I am and probably didn't want to have to resuscitate me! Well I survived and more importantly tripper was a champ! He cried at first but then stopped and fell right to sleep in the car. BIG day for mommy and tripper today! :) and we both survived:)

Like I said before tripp has been a lot more active and alert these days. Here are some of the things this big lil man has been up to:

• likes to play with his hair and mommy's mouth and nose when he eats
• grabs EVERYTHING, especially the remote, our cell phones and drinks in our hands (he even opens his mouth as if he wants to drink too!)
• Has graduated to a big boy carseat an loves it!
• eats cereal with fruit in the morning and veggies at night....started veggies at lunch today too!
• rollin' around ALL the time...even wakes him up at night
• can climb out of his chair
• always moving his feet and toes
• likes to eat his toes
• loves his jumper
• likes to be moving all the time!
• wearing 12 months and size 3 diapers
• loves to look at himself in the mirror (daddy says he's just like his uncle erik)
• toots all the time and it sounds like an adult....so you can imagine the looks I get in public:)
• likes to let us know hes pooping...he grunts REALLY loud!
• screams when he wants our attention....and it works, especially in public!
• smiles and laughs all the time
• loves early morning runs with mommy (never makes a peep, except to laugh!)
• can sit on own for a second then slowly falls to side
• chews on everything!
• likes to make big splashes in tub and likes to chew on washcloths
• takes 2 big naps and sometimes a little cat nap mid-day
• is very nosey and likes to look at everything and everyone around
• still loves to be outside

Here are a few things that melt my heart....

• when he smiles his big smile and laughs his little chuckle
• see the way his face lights up when daddy gets home
• when he nuzzles his head in my arm and neck when tired
• when he falls asleep in my arms
• watching him sleep
• the way he smiles at me when I have been away for a bit
• the way that he just loves to be with me!
• I just love being his mommy!!

To say that tripp has been the biggest blessing in our lives would not even begin to cover it. We love this little boy more than life and are so proud to be his parents. I love watching him grow and change but also wish time wouldn't go by so fast! We love our life! Here are some fun pictures of our 6 month old....enjoy!!

Big Boy...

precious boy!

Our baby is growing up too fast! Tripp has officially graduated to a "big boy" car seat! Daddy installed it last night and we took our little man for a spin! He loved it and didn't know what to look at first! He was very smiley, despite the fact that his daddy accidentally pinched his leg when he got buckled in...he was a tough boy about it, he cried for a second then stopped and was happy again! What a tough little guy! I think it hurt me more than him!!

Tripp has been growing more and more alert everyday. He is way more in tuned with his surroundings and a lot more curious! He is a very mischievous little boy! In fact yesterday I put tripp in his chair and turned on mickey mouse clubhouse (his fave right now) why I went into the kitchen to rinse out his bottle. Mind you, Tripp sits in his chair quite often. Well I was gone about 30 second when I heard tripp hysterically laughing so I peeked around the corner to check and here is what I saw:

I panicked at first and then couldn't help but laugh and snap a quick photo! Lessons learned:

1. tripp needs to be strapped in now

2. ALWAYS keep my camera handy! :)

I just couldn't believe that he figured out how to weasel his way out of his chair! What will he do next?! My sister (the mother of 2 boys) tells me to get prepared! I don't think carl and I will ever have a dull moment again! Here are a few more pictures of my mischievous little man.

This past week we had the pleasure of traveling to baytown and spending the night with my sister and her two boys! Her hubby was working nights so tripp and I packed up our house and went on down! Yaya even came and spent the night with us too! My sister and I took the two little boys and went and had lunch with my nephew blake at school. we even did a little shopping with the little boys as well. When one was whining the other was good, then the other would start whining! Wow were we exhausted! To top off the day and speaking of mischievous little boys...while we were there my 7 year old nephew broke the front window of their house by throwing a sword at it! My poor sister had to duct tape it until her hubby came home while I tried to keep her 2 year old son away from it! Wow, what we have in store when we have boys! Needless to say when we went out to eat that night mom, kelly and I all had a margarita! Boy did we need it;) Here are some fun pictures from our little trip.
